Clearly I had a different experience than most of the reviews here. I took my car in for engine sputtering, asked for tune up and diagnostic. Supposedly work was done, found another issue during tune up, bill almost $800 and diagnostic recommendation was to get a tune up. Pick up car and within days the sputtering is back and check engine light back on. Sputtering has changed to occurring at low speeds or at idle. I set appointment to go back in. Takes a few weeks as I only have this one car. They had some offer for free diagnostic, so I selected the option, though to me I’m still dealing with engine light and sputtering which was original complaint. So now they say the air intake valve is damaged and needs replaced. Another $600 including a second diagnostic fee. They claimed first diagnostic was inconclusive because check engine light wasn’t on at the time. And apparently no one noticed the tail light that is out. I don’t mind paying for quality work, but I certainly don’t consider their diagnostic rates or quality to be a good investment.

Thank-you for the review. I understand your frustration. On the visit we had a random missfire code with no symptoms or light on. Testing all vitals such as compression, fuel trims, and monotoring the PCM during a road test found no known issues at the time. We suggested a tune-up and replacing an ignition coil from a history code. On your second visit we had different codes, so a different diagnosis had to be done. The valve cover problem caused a lean condition and a poor idle, thus a sputtering engine. It's kind of like a headache in a human can be from several things also.

Eby’s is great! They have worked with my family for years and have been really accommodating/helpful! I had been taking my used car to the dealer I purchased it from about 3 yrs ago, because of coupons for free service. I can tell you now that EBy’s is caring for my car it has never run better! I was in shock with how nice it drove after service. It was like a whole new car! So impressed! Thank you Eby’s!
